Mate

Mate

I put off reading Mate because I enjoyed it's predecessor, Bride, and didn't want to be disappointed. I enjoyed Bride too much for a book that is, basically, more Twighlight. But I'm a sucker for these female characters who are strong, intelligent, self aware, ambitious, vulnerable, libidinous, and stupid af about "love".

Perhaps they remind me of the age when I couldn't discern between enthralled and in thrall. Perhaps, I just like knowing stuff is gonna work out and nobody will have to file a restraining order. Maybe it's redemptive.

Maybe, the sex scenes are just really well written. Either way, Mate was more of the same. A bit more Growling Lumberjack Alpha than the first. A bit more Female Doesn't Know Her Value. But overall, diverting.
